News — weekly summary

This week I made some legit progress! Maybe I'm finally turning the corner after weeks of little to no art. Catch up with last week here. I really, really hate ironing, so I tried to flatten my MIL's piece by lightly misting the back with water & putting heavy paper cutter on it for over a day. It's better...but still not great. I also realized that, once again, it's an irregular size and won't fit a standard mat/ frame. Grrr!! Why do all paper manufacturers make pre-cut paper that doesn't fit standard sizes!?!? It's so infuriating! 7x10, 10x14, etc are worthless...

Well it's been another week, and very little has changed here in my world. Last time here.  Do you prefer your good or bad news first? Today I'm going to start with the bad so we can end on a brighter note. Bad news item 1: I haven't gotten back into the swing of things after the holidays. I'm not painting consistently yet, and I have very little motivation. Wow my first blog post of 2021, and it's on the very first day of the year. Last week here. The bad news from the past week is: I made barely any progress on my MIL's commission. I started doubting my previous color choice & started a new background, but got no further than that.  I did very little art-ing overall, although I did more yesterday with some of my new supplies from Christmas.
